For Mending - feat. ‘cellist Gregor Riddell - is dedicated to the charity Get Connected, the free helpline for young people who know they need help but don’t know where to find it. 

For Mending is a song about difficult times and their aftermath, how pain does not always leave us even when the crisis is over. With the right support from the right person at the right time, however, we can begin to heal ourselves.  

Having visited their London headquarters and seen first hand the fantastic service they provide to young people in times of need, all proceeds from this song will be donated to Get Connected. Find out more about their work at www.getconnected.org.uk/home

I made this song from booming synthetic drums and sampled wind instruments - bassoons, flutes, clarinets - the lead melody began life as a soprano saxophone.

I wanted to create the sense of a strange journey - an awakening to new strands of life and ensuing struggle to understand and embrace them.
