Albion Trails imagines the flow of a rich cultural river - the waves of events, ideas and peoples that have shaped modern Britain - following reminiscences of a well known British melody on a journey of metamorphosis from nostalgic past to imagined future.

Scored for octet, Albion Trails was written for the Barbican's Total Immersion Festival, and was premiered by the BBC Symphony Octet with conductor Richard Baker.
